Writer Tips

Writers occasionally get stumped and need somewhere to go for tips and ideas that will keep them moving forward with their work. Making progress requires resources that don’t fail them, when they need them most.

These pages are about resources and how you can keep your stories moving with high-impact content that moves the readers. If you’re looking for some new idea or thought, you may find it here. Or if you have a new idea or thought, post it in a comment here. Our readers will be glad you did.

Sift through the specific tips pages as they are added, or add your own thoughts, and perhaps we’ll contact you and make your tip a page (with your byline, of course).

You may submit articles with tips for Tips Pages to: acewriters@gmail.com

i agree that us writers need direction and guidance from other writers. Also what needs to be talked about is self confidence. We need words of advice to keep going sometimes.

Here’s a hint for a situation where you have a series of adjectives and you’re wondering of a comma should be included. Example: She covered the child with a big blue blanket.

Do you need a comma between “big” and “blue”? Ask yourself if you can replace the questionable comma with the word “and.” If you can, then the comma may stay. If you can’t, then the comma must go.

In this case, you would not say, “a big and blue blanket.” Therefore, no comma is needed.
