Blogging for Profit – How to Write Value Driven Content for the Internet
No matter what you know, you know something that will benefit someone (probably you) on the Internet. You can make a profit with your blog on the Internet.
But, you’re probably wondering what to write….
Content is anything that remotely, specifically, or possibly includes words strung together in sentence form that makes sense to you and one other person. If you think it’s something you’d read, someone else will be reading it too.
Value Driven Content
This is content that includes searchable terms or phrases that other people will search for online and possibly find your website. If you use your terms well, often, and link to them from remote locations, they WILL be picked up by google, yahoo and other search engine crawlers and linked. This makes your site popular.
Internet
That’s that thing where all the information we type into the computer goes when we can’t find it anymore. It’s helpful when it works and a pain in the arse when it doesn’t work.
Profit
I’ve heard this is spendable cash you receive for doing what you’re supposed to do when you’re not sleeping and bothering the birds. I’ve heard it jingles in your pockets and crinkles when you wad it up.
Blogs
These are sites where you can easily add content that people want to read, and charge them for the privilege of putting an add on your site to defer your readers to their own sites. People use them for a variety of purposes. But mostly, they use them to distribute information they feel the world needs. If you can combine what the world wants with what you offer, you make a profit.(See #4 for explanation of profit.)
Bloggers
That’s you. The person who writes the blog is called a blogger. It’s not a difficult word to say or to DO, but it is important to understand who you are. Once you recognize your position, you’ll be able to understand the other positions involved in blogging.
Marketer
This person recommends your blog to other people, sells merchandise, products, and services, sometimes to bloggers, but more often to blog readers.
Blog Readers
These are the people who search for and want to read what you write. They’re pretty intelligent, they locate your blog against the odds and read what you offer, then COMMENT.
Commenters
These are the good readers that you want stopping by your blogs. You want them to drive traffic from your blog, because they also drive traffic to your blog. This is important TRAFFIC.
Traffic
Traffic is the readers who come to your blog because they want what you offer.
Advertizers
These are the people who buy Cyber-Real Estate from you to market their blogs, links, products, or services. Treat them really NICE.
Cyber-Real Estate
This is measured in pixels and you have many of them on your blog. Depending on how you arrange your blog, you’ll have plenty of space to advertize and still sell space for others to advertize on your blog or website.
Pixels
Those tiny squares that make up the picture in front of your eyes on the computer, they’re almost microscopic, unless you’ve enlarged a photo (the bad ways) in which case they’re highly visible.
Photos
These are the key to image driven traffic. You’ll want lots of these on your website. The more photos you put on your website, the more traffic you drive and the better your website markets when people get there. A picture is worth a 1000 words.
Website
Some people refer to a blog as a website. A website doesn’t change as often and contains more specific content, with a direct purpose in mind.

SEO

Search Engine Crawlers
The only known robot who can locate your website content and recognize it for value driven content before you’ve completed the article it’s in. This guy is more powerful than the president and I’ve been told he’s got more bug buddies than a terrorist. But we love him when we keyword our work well.
Spiders
These are the links that drive traffic to your website. Whether you post them, your buddy posts them, or someone else viral links your website using repetitive robots, high quality spider links are your friend. All 8 arms of him love you LOTS.
